Elegant and graceful distinctly cut glass decanter (1780 era design). Exquisite club style (?) modified by elongated cushioned knopped neck. Stopper is mushroom style (1790 – 1840 era design) with 8 smooth angled flats and smooth center cap.
Matching wine glasses coordinate perfectly.Nice weight and fit in the hand, with rounded, slightly ovoid bucket and bobbin stems.Glasses may be of more recent vintage.Any dissimilarity is entirely too subtle to be noticeable even with magnification.
Both decanter and glasses depict clusters of grapes, alternating with vertically aligned starbursts and circles made of intricate, overlapping triangles.Design cut in underside of wine glass is of 16 long slightly sweeping 2-section leaves.Creates a look of depth on relatively flat stable base.
